As noted before, Rhea Ripley made a surprise appearance at this past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show that featured Ripley being attacked off-screen by Judgement Day’s Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Following the show, WWE provided a storyline injury update stating that Ripley had suffered a fractured orbital bone injury that was later revealed to be WWE’s way of writing out Ripley due to her recently suffering a legitimate injury.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources confirmed that Ripley had suffered a legitimate orbital bone injury and was sustained at some point last week. Meltzer speculated that Ripley likely had suffered the injury during her brawl with Morgan and Rodriguez on the October 21st WWE RAW show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials currently do not have a timetable for Ripley’s return.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources also confirmed that Ripley’s orbital bone injury is legitimate and the current belief is that the injury likely happened following Ripley’s headbutt spot during her brawl with Morgan and Rodriguez on last week’s RAW show.
Johnson reported that the injury angle on this past Tuesday’s NXT show was a late addition to the show and WWE officials likely filmed it there due to the show being in Orlando and Ripley would not have needed to fly in to do an angle.
Johnson also reported that WWE officials have pulled Ripley from this weekend’s WWE RAW taping in Saudi Arabia as a result.
