As noted before, MJF has been on a break from AEW since this past September’s All Out 2024 event due to a filming project reason. This film was later revealed to be for the upcoming new film Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to the classic comedy film Happy Gilmore.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that MJF is currently expected to have a significant role in the new film. It was reported that throughout this past September, MJF was busy traveling to finish up his scenes for the movie and was able to wrap up things towards the end of the month.
It was reported that MJF also recently signed on for another film role for an upcoming film featuring Justin Long and Ron Perlman. Details regarding this new project reportedly are currently not known.
In regards to MJF’s potential return to AEW, it was reported that AEW officials currently expect MJF to return sooner than later. No other details were given regarding a potential return date nor plans for MJF’s return to AEW.
