As noted before, Jade Cargill was involved in an injury angle on the November 22nd WWE SmackDown show in Salt Lake City, Utah that was believed to be WWE’s way of writing out Cargill for the foreseeable future. The situation with Cargill’s injury has led to conflicting reports over it being a genuine injury or just a storyline injury.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there are three different stories going around within WWE regarding Cargill’s injury situation based on his sources.
One of the stories is that Cargill’s storyline injury angle is meant to be a cover for a real injury. Meltzer reported that the actual injury Cargill suffered has been kept very secretive within WWE regarding this story.
One source spoken to reportedly stated that it seems like nobody, including Cargill’s friends, knows what the injury actually is or why it happened.
One high level WWE officials spoken to stated that it is 100% that Cargill is legit injured and stories and reports denying it are false.
Another story reportedly revolves around Cargill’s injury angle was done to cover for a currently unknown backstage political issue involving Cargill. No other details were given regarding this backstage issue. Meltzer reported that for this story to be accurate, Cargill’s tag team with Bianca Belair would have to be broken up to give credence to this story. Meltzer stated that if the team is put back together when Cargill returns, that would refute the story, but if it isn’t that would lend credibility to it.
Meltzer reported that regardless of Cargill’s injury situation, legit or not, Cargill and Belair are currently expected to be dropping their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and WWE likely will end up holding a new tournament to crown a new champion.
