As noted before, WWE officially debuting a new championship belt for their main roster Women’s division called the WWE Women’s United States Championship on their November 8th WWE SmackDown show in Buffalo, New York. WWE is currently holding a tournament to crown the inaugural champion for this new belt.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that WWE officials currently have plans to introduce a new championship belt for their RAW Women’s division. Those spoken to reportedly stated that this new championship will be called the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Johnson reported that the current expectation is that this new championship will likely be officially unveiled some time after WWE’s new Women’s United States Championship has been established.
