As noted before, WWE NXT talent Oba Femi has been absent from NXT programming since this past October’s NXT Halloween Havoc 2024 event.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported that his sources stated that the reason for Femi’s absence was due to him currently being on a break from NXT and has been spending the time off in his home country of Nigeria. Brennan reported that there has been no indication that Femi’s absence was due to any injuries or visa issues. Those spoken to within WWE reportedly stated that Femi will return “sooner rather than later.”
Those spoken to reportedly also stated that WWE officials currently do not have any immediate plans for Femi to be called up to their main roster. WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque reportedly was stated to be a big fan of Femi and Femi has impressed key figures such as WWE SVP of NXT and Talent Relations Shawn Michaels in NXT.
One source spoken to reportedly stated that they would be “shocked” if WWE has not already extended Femi’s contract that he had signed back in 2021.
