Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Update – John Laurinaitis Files Motion Seeking Arbitration

As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit this past January against former TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Besides McMahon, WWE and former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis were also named defendants in the lawsuit. McMahon and WWE filed motions this past Monday requesting for the lawsuit to be moved to arbitration.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Laurinaitis also filed a motion this past Tuesday before the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut also requesting for the court to order that the lawsuit be moved to arbitration.

In his filing, Laurinaitis claims that “as a full-time employee of WWE, it is my understanding that I was listed as a released party from any and all lawsuits or causes of action from Plaintfiff Grant.”

Laurinaitis’ motion also claimed that he believes the “sold and exclusive method” to resolve any issues stemming from the settlement agreement Grant had signed with WWE and McMahon was arbitration. 

Johnson reported that Grant and her attorney’s have until January 13, 2025 to officially respond to Laurinaitis’ motion, as well as the motions filed by McMahon and WWE.
