Dakota Kai reportedly suffered a head-related injury during the January 20th WWE RAW show in Dallas, Texas, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Kai has been pulled off the road and the current belief within WWE is that Kai suffered the injury during her tag team match with IYO SKY against Pure Fusion Collective’s Zoey Stark & Shayna Baszler. One source spoken to reportedly stated that they believe that Kai might have suffered the injury following the rough bump she took from Stark’s missile dropkick spot.
Johnson reported that Kai is not backstage at tonight’s RAW show in Atlanta, Georgia and her status for this Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2025 event is currently not known.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources confirmed that Kai had suffered an injury and provided additional details.
Alvarez reported that Kai has been placed in concussion protocol and confirmed that Kai suffered the head injury from Stark’s stiff dropkick to her during their tag team match.
In a follow-up report, Mike Johnson reported that his sources confirmed that Kai had been diagnosed with a concussion and there is no timetable for a potential in-ring return until after she passes WWE’s concussion protocol.
