As noted before, Kevin Kelly was fired from AEW this past March over issues related to an online incident involving Kelly accusing AEW/ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni of committing libel against him. Kelly and former AEW/ROH talents The Tate Twins (Brandon & Brent Tate), former The Boys, filed a defamation lawsuit this past September against AEW, AEW CEO Tony Khan, and Riccaboni that was moved to a Federal court this past November.
In a recent response to a fan on Twitter, Kelly claimed that he was fired by AEW after he had suffered a “mental breakdown” incident.
This fan stated “It annoys me how AEW screwed you over and was so fun listening to you and Nigel together, at least they had someone calling the IN RING product instead of telling us “we’ll be in Bumfu&k, Arkansas, tickets on sale Saturday” .. “what a monumental maneuver” URGH!” and Kelly responded stating:
“All I wanted to do was call wrestling. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d have to listen to a stuttering son of a billionaire feeding me lines and then correcting himself and telling me I was doing great. They waited until I had a mental breakdown to fire me.”
