As noted before, this past Sunday’s The People vs. GCW event for Game Changer Wrestling in New York City, New York featured TNA Wrestling and indies talent PCO giving a shoot rant speech against TNA and attempted to destroy the TNA Digital Media Championship. PCO later provided an update blaming his issues with TNA’s management for the cause of his incident.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that those spoken to close to PCO stated that the cause of this incident revolved around issues between PCO and TNA over talks for a new potential contract.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that prior to his contract expiring, PCO and TNA officials had been in talks and had agreed to terms for a new deal that was just waiting for PCO’s signature. TNA officials reportedly then came back and changed their offer for lower monetary terms similar to offers recently given to other TNA talents with expiring contracts. Those spoken to reportedly stated that PCO had verbally agreed to the new terms but no contract was sent to him to sign.
TNA officials reportedly then contacted PCO and informed him that they had rescinded their new contract offer to him but asked him if he would finish up on their January 23rd live Impact show in San Antonio and drop the Digital Media title. Those spoken to reportedly stated that PCO had agreed to TNA’s request on December 19th and then never heard back from the company.
In regards to GCW, Meltzer reported that those spoken to within GCW stated that they thought PCO had went into business for himself and had been under the impression that he was going out there to build an angle for TNA’s live show. Those same people spoken to reportedly stated that they had no idea he was going to do what he actually did.
Others spoken to close to PCO stated that GCW officials had known about the direction PCO was going for his promo and it wasn’t for an angle to build for TNA’s live show. Those same people spoken to confirmed that GCW officials did not know beforehand that he was going to smash the TNA Digital Media Championship.
In regards to PCO’s plans for his appearance on GCW’s event, those spoken to close to PCO stated that he wanted to do way more. PCO reportedly had told GCW officials he wanted to do a promo talking about the new TNA management and praise former TNA President Scott D’Amore. GCW officials reportedly told PCO to not do it and instead told him to say he was not a free agent and he is back in GCW to handle unfinished business.
Meltzer reported that when it became clear that PCO was not going in the direction GCW officials had wanted for his post-match promo, people tried to get him to stop his promo and GCW officials cut off his segment and switched to airing a video package on the broadcast.
In regards to the Digital Media title that PCO tried to break, PCO recently denied reports of the belt that he tried to destroy was a replica. PCO stated on Twitter “Why would I had (sic) a replica, that’s the dumbest thing I head from people wearing suits in office.”
