Christopher Daniels Comments on Match with Jack Perry in 2024 Nearly was His Last Match
As noted before, Christopher Daniels retired from his in-ring wrestling career following his Texas Death Match against Hangman Adam Page at the January 18th AEW Collision Maximum Carnage show.
A recent episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast featured Daniels as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Daniels thoughts about his match with Jack Perry in September of 2024 was nearly his final match for his wrestling career.
“The match that I had before this Hangman match was a match with Jack Perry. Honestly, it wasn’t even supposed to be me. It was one of those things where Tony had a Jack Perry vs. TBD. I was like, what if that’s me? I had this thing with The Elite. At that moment, the last match that I had was on the independents and in the back of my head I was like, well, out of respect to Tony, I should probably have my last match in AEW. I didn’t want to not have a match in AEW — if the end were to come soon, I didn’t want to be like, oh shit, I never had that match with AEW. I literally volunteered, I was like, hey man, I’ll wrestle that match. I wrestled that match with Jack and I even said to him at that moment, I was like, hey man, I’m not sure, this might be my last match. He was like, what? I was like, yeah, I’m getting to the end and there’s not a lot of demand for me but we’ll see what happens. It almost happened that way, that almost was my last match until the thing with Hangman went down.”

Tony Schiavone Comments on His Praise of Harley Cameron’s Star Rise in AEW
A recent episode of the What Happened When with Tony Schiavone podcast featured co-host Tony Schiavone giving his praise of Harley Cameron’s rise as a star in AEW and in wrestling.
“Conrad Thompson got to meet Harley Cameron in Knoxville last week. [She’s] something else, isn’t she? I’m telling you, if you don’t love Harley Cameron as a wrestling fan watching TV or as a person backstage who gets to know what type of person she is, wow. She’s one of the best. One of the best. We need more Harley Cameron in our lives. I just hope that, when we go to Brisbane [for Grand Slam], which is her hometown, that Harley’s gonna get a chance to wrestle and hopefully win. I think that would be great.”

Deonna Purrazzo Comments on Return of “Timeless” Toni Storm
MuscleManMalcolm held a recent interview with Deonna Purrazzo. One of the topics discussed included Purrazzo’s thoughts about Toni Storm’s recent return of her “Timeless” character in AEW.
“We saw a whole new side of Toni Storm. I knew she was faking it all along, but I’m glad to see her show her true colors. She’s back to being ‘Timeless,’ and I think that’s something Mariah didn’t expect. So Toni has the edge right now, but you can’t count Mariah out. So I don’t know which way it’s gonna go.”
Purrazzo also gave her thoughts about her being interested in having a rematch with Storm should Storm defeat “The Glamour” Mariah May for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW’s Grand Slam Australia show.
“Timeless’ Toni Storm the crowd got to love, because she’s just silly, funny, and she’s making them laugh. I felt like coming in as ‘The Virtuosa,’ we didn’t have that same connection yet, so it was a bit, for me, of a weird dynamic between the two of us, because they didn’t want to see her lose, but they also didn’t want to see me win. So I feel like if Toni was to win at Grand Slam, it’s a great dynamic now, because we still love ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm, but now we hate ‘The Virtuosa’, and they should. The fans turned on me. They didn’t want to see me be the champion, and now they’re gonna have to — I’m not gonna say, ‘Feel the wrath,’ because I also hate Harley Cameron. They’re gonna have to feel The Vendetta.”
