As noted before, AEW released Miro this past Monday while Malakai Black’s contract with AEW expired this past Sunday and he has left the company.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the current belief is that both Miro and Black will be returning to WWE very soon. Those spoken to reportedly stated that WWE’s creative have been talking about potential plans for Miro and Black’s return.
Meltzer speculated that CJ Perry, former Lana in WWE, might also end up making her return to WWE in the future.
Besides Miro and Black, Ricky Starks had also been released by WWE this past Monday and made his official WWE debut at this past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show. Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that prior to his release from AEW, WWE officials had plans for Starks to debut in their NXT brand at a major event later this year. WWE officials reportedly sped up the process as soon as he became available on the market.
