Big E Comments on Being Shunned & Kicked Out of New Day by Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston

As noted before, Big E was kicked out of New Day by Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston this past December after the duo turned their back on Big E after claiming Big E had left them for a cushy office job and only now cared to come back after just watching and doing nothing for months as they came close to breaking apart.

A recent episode of the X-POD ’97 podcast featured Big E as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Big E’s thoughts about the moment he was kicked out of New Day by Woods and Kingston.

“In this industry, you have to evolve. Even when you find gold, you can sometimes stay on the same path. Once people love you and you get the chants down, you can kind of keep coasting, but then that’s all you are. I’m trying to swim through delicate lanes here. I’m very proud of what we built as a collective. We were three guys who were trying to save our careers. Now, for better or worse, the wrestling world is talking about those two again. I feel a fire has been ignited again. I’m really proud of what we’ve built. I’m proud of where I am in my life. I’m proud of standing on my principles. Wrestling is about delivering those moments. Title reigns are important, to a degree. Length of reign, all those things. You can talk about titles, championships, and 14 times. What really attracts me to our industry is those moments. I had never seen anything done like what we did in that ring before. I can’t think of any other turn that went the way it did. Ultimately, I’m really happy.

It’s funny because before that segment, it was positivity and, ‘I’m happy for you. I hope you get better.’ Now, I have so many pro-Kofi and Woods trolls every time I post about Spider-Man or the Fiesta Bowl. ‘Kofi and Woods were right. You be everywhere but the ring.’ I broke my neck, that’s why. They opened the door for all these idiots coming in and talking about everything I’m doing outside of the ring.”

Booker T stated “I think, being able to see so much more than just the competition in-ring, you know, challenges, stuff like that. You’re going to get a chance to see the emotion, the real true raw emotion to where, there again, so many people wonder about wrestling. But seeing it from this perspective, they’re going to perhaps second guess and go, ‘wow, this is something totally different than I perceived it to be for so many years.

In a recent interview with The Pat McAfee Show, Jey Uso gave his thoughts about how he has been helping produce on occasions his concourse entrances on WWE shows. Uso stated “The craziest part with the concourse entrance, I have time to go up through the concourse, but when I’m sitting there waiting for my music to hit, they are counting me down. ‘You got one minute.’ I’m sitting there waiting, and when I mean that’s the craziest part of that entrance, when I’m sitting in the concourse with the people. I’m talking before I even walk out, sitting there and waiting to go, that is crazy. There was one moment where she was shooting the shot to come out of the concourse, and the people weren’t in the shot. I switched cameras around to make it look like it was busy behind me. The shot just came out right. I’m in there producing too, Uce. I’m like, ‘Let’s walk this way and turn this way because the people are here.’ When the shot came out, that was the first shot I did, now it’s every time. I want all the kids. Give me all the kids. It’s very fun.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
