As noted before, Bayley was pulled from WrestleMania 41 following her being attacked unseen by a mystery attacker during Saturday’s Countdown to WrestleMania 41 pre-show in Las Vegas, Nevada. RAW GM Adam Pearce told Lyra Valkyria that she needed to find a new partner for her match against Judgement Day’s Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match for Sunday’s show.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Bayley being pulled from her scheduled match at WrestleMania 41 was not due to any injury-related reasons and instead was just for storyline purposes. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Bayley’s storyline removal was something that WWE had planned for weeks.
Johnson reported that there was some sympathy among talent shown towards Bayley when talent found out about the plans due to her being universally respected within WWE’s locker room.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources confirmed that Bayley’s injury is only a storyline and plans for Bayley’s removal had been in the works for a while. Those spoken to reportedly stated that WWE officials had plans for Becky Lynch to replace Bayley and be Valkyria’s mystery partner for Valkyria’s scheduled WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Sunday’s Night 2 show.
