Triple H Comments on Only Two Other People on WWE Executive Team Knew About John Cena Heel Turn Plans Beforehand

WWE’s Peter Rosenberg held a recent interview with WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque. One of the topics discussed included Levesque’s thoughts about how only three people within WWE’s executive team knew about the plans beforehand for John Cena’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber 2025.

“We kept that so quiet that on our side, three people on the exec team knew. That’s it. Me and two others. Nobody else knew. Cena knew. Cena didn’t even tell his wife. Cena didn’t even tell his manager. Cody knew, Cody told no one, right. Obviously Rock knew. Travis sort of knew but he was just fucking going along, just being along for the ride. Doing exactly what they told him to do which is at some point slap Cody and he was slapping him whether Cena wanted it or not, cause Cena didn’t know about that part.”

Levesque also gave his thoughts about how he had directed traffic for Cena’s heel turn moment at the end of the show.

“When we get to the end of the show, I have to tell everyone as we’re coming in to that last minute of Elimination Chamber, ‘Okay, there’s aftermath on this show. Everybody lay out, I’m directing traffic, I will call all of this. Marty, here’s how all of this is going to go.’ I rattle off all this shit to Marty, kind like shot for shot. It’s fast because we’re getting to the end of this match. Marty is like, ‘Holy shit.’ I’m like, ‘I will walk you through it’ because I’m still not saying on headset, and then John is going to turn on Cody. I’m leaving out details. So when we get there, I’m trying to be a fan and feel it and as it comes in, then technically put it out to the truck of where we need to go and hopefully be just ahead of it to where we can get it down.”

Paul Heyman Comments on the “Wisdom of the Wise Man” Being at Stake for the Main Event of WrestleMania 41 Night 1

Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned held a recent interview with Paul Heyman. One of the topics discussed included Heyman’s thoughts about the upcoming Triple Threat match of Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins for the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 and the “wisdom of the Wise Man” being the actual stakes for the match.

“If you really push the narrative, what’s at stake in the main event of WrestleMania? What title is being pursued in the main event of Saturday night WrestleMania? The wisdom of the ‘Wise Man.'”

Heyman also gave his thoughts about his loyalty to both Reigns and Punk ahead of their match at WrestleMania 41.

“I am loyal to my Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. I am loyal to my best friend, CM Punk. Just because I’m loyal to both does not mean I’m going to be disloyal to either. Loyalty is meant to be tested. I can be loyal to both and never be disloyal to either. And every day there is a temptation and the opportunity to be disloyal. Which is why the loyalty of the ‘Wise Man’ runs deepest and most passionate of all.”

Backstage Update on Sting Not Inducting Lex Luger Into WWE Hall of Fame

As noted before, WWE recently revealed the list of official inductors for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame 2025 class of inductees. This list was notable for featuring the omission of Sting as the inductor for Lex Luger despite Luger requesting both Diamond Dallas Page and Sting to induct him.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the decision to not have Sting induct Luger is currently believed to have been made by WWE President Nick Khan.

Meltzer reported that AEW CEO Tony Khan was not asked by anyone from WWE about a potential deal to use Sting for their Hall of Fame ceremony event as of two weeks ago. Meltzer reported that the lack of any word or updates since then appears to have confirmed that no deal was asked for nor negotiated.

Meltzer also reported that WWE officials had informed Luger when he first made the request that they did not know if that would be possible and never got back to him about it.

Meltzer speculated that a potential reason for the lack of Sting showing up at the Hall of Fame ceremony might be to avoid him potentially overshadowing both Luger and WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque inductions for this year’s ceremony.
