Paramount Launching New Pro Wrestling Fast Channel with NWA & WOW on Roku
Paramount Global Content Distribution recently announced that they will launching a new wrestling-based FAST channel called Wrestling Central on The Roku Channel in the United States and Canada.
It was announced that this upcoming new will feature new weekly matches from WOW (Women Of Wrestling) and the National Wrestling Alliance. It was also announced that this upcoming new channel will also feature “an extensive library of content including classic episodes, never-before-seen matches, specials and documentaries.”

The National Wrestling Alliance is the most legendary promotion in pro wrestling history, the oldest wrestling brand in the world. It has been home to iconic stars like Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Dory & Terry Funk, Sting, & current NWA World Champions Thom Latimer and Kenzie Paige. Friday’s Super Viernes show for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico featured Sky Team (Místico, Neón, & Máscara Dorada) defeating Los Infernales (Averno, Mephisto, & Euforia) to become the new CMLL World Trios Champions.
As noted before, Masahiro Takanashi has been out of action for DDT Pro Wrestling since this past March due to a neck and spinal cord injury and surgery. DDT provided an update on Friday stating that Takanashi recently started his rehab for his neck and spinal cord injury. Takanashi stated that he is currently at the stage of his recovery where he is only able to just move the tips of his toes.
Business Insider reported that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer company is currently planing on submitting a bid for the Hooters restaurant chain’s intellectual property. It was reported that if Hogan’s bid is successful, it would enable his Real American Beer brand to create merchandise, food, and beverage products featuring the Hooters IP at restaurants, retail locations, and entertainment venues across the United States. It was also reported that Real American Beer might potentially license the Hooters name back to the restaurant due to the company is not interested in acquiring Hooters’ locations for their bid. It was also reported that Hooters of America had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this past March due to being in $370 million in debt.
Pro Wrestling NOAH recently announced one new stipulation for the GHC Heavyweight Championship match of Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Ozawa (c) at their Star Navigation 2025 event on May 18th in Tokyo, Japan. This new stipulation is if Kiyomiya loses, then he must leave NOAH and come back as a member of Ozawa’s Team 2000X group.
Variety reported that former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista will be staring in an upcoming action film Trap House. It was stated that this upcoming film is being produced by Aura Entertainment and is stated to be “a team of elite DEA agents whose rebellious teenage children use their parents’ own tactics—surveillance, infiltration, and non-lethal weapons—to rob a ruthless drug cartel.” It was also reported that this upcoming film is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on November 14th.
Friday was the eighth anniversary of the famous tweet that was sent to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer that kick started The Elite’s All In indie event and later as the basis for the creation of AEW. This tweet was sent by user TheWWEGuy who asked Meltzer if ROH could ever sell out an arena with over 10,000 fans and preferably at Madison Square Garden.
Dradition Pro-Wrestling announced that they had pulled NJPW talent Hiroyoshi Tenzan from their Soul of Dragon event on Friday in Tokyo, Japan due to Tenzan is currently dealing with knee and back injuries. held their ‘Soul of Dragon’ event on May 16th at Korakuen Hall. Satoshi Kojima replaced Tenzan for his scheduled Six-Man tag team match against Fujinami and Yuji Nagata against Katsushi Takemura, Manabu Soya, & Mitsuya Nagai at the event.
In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, former NJPW talent BUSHI stated that he was hospitalized on May 8th in order for him to undergo surgery for vocal cord polyps. BUSHI stated “Since about November last year, the doctor told me that this is the kind of thing that often happens to vocalists. It wasn’t malignant, and it wasn’t an urgent surgery, but I was feeling some discomfort (during the matches) and it was hard, so I wanted to take this opportunity to have it done. Until now, I haven’t been able to take long breaks because of my busy schedule.“
In a recent interview with BET, WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline Moore gave her thoughts about her wrestling career and her regret that she was not used to her full potential. Moore stated “There weren’t many Black women wrestlers. I was it. I wasn’t just a body; I was a force. Yes, my matches always had an edge; that was all me. I cared about my performance and wanted fans to get their money’s worth. I wish they’d used me to my full potential. I had more to give.“
