IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez Match and Becky Lynch Promo Segment Announced for Monday’s WWE RAW Show

WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced one new match and one new segment for the card of this Monday’s WWE RAW show at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

In regards to the new match announced, this was announced to be a singles match of IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez.

In regards to the new segment, this was announced to be a promo segment featuring Becky Lynch.

Current card for May 5th WWE RAW show:

  • IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez
  • Rusev vs. Otis
  • Penta vs. JD McDonagh
  • Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman to appear
  • Becky Lynch to speak

CM Punk Comments on “I Gotta Main Event WrestleMania Night Two For All Those People That Move The Goalposts”

This past April’s WrestleMania 41 Night 1 event at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada featured CM Punk being in the main event match at WrestleMania for the first time in his wrestling career. Punk competed in a Triple Threat match against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, which was won by Rollins.

Punk recently reflected on Instagram about if he believes that he will main event a WrestleMania show in the future and his issues with those who “move the goalposts” by claiming he wasn’t in the real main event of WrestleMania 41.

“Sure, I do. Gotta hit night two for all those people that move the goalposts.”


WWE News & Notes

As noted before, a lawsuit was filed in November of 2023 by a group of WWE shareholders against former TKO and WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon over claims that McMahon had engaged in a “sham sale process” for WWE’s sale to Endeavor. Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that the plaintiffs in this lawsuit, led by the Laborers’ District Council and Contractors’ Pension Fund of Ohio, had filed motions on April 29th and April 30th before the Delaware Court of Chancery asking the court to compel Vince McMahon to respond to discovery requests, including by producing certain documents. Thurston reported that McMahon appears to be resisting or delaying being in full compliance with discovery phase of this lawsuit based on this new filing.

This past Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Des Moines, Iowa featured Aleister Black defeating The Miz in a singles match. This was Black’s first victory in WWE since October of 2020. Black made his official return to WWE this past April.

WWE filed a new trademark for “Adrenaline Drip” on May 1st for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

As noted before, WWE had a new round of staff layoffs this past Thursday at their headquarters office in Stamford, Connecticut. Among those laid off was SVP of Creative Writing Operations, Christine Lubrano. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that the reason for Lubrano being let go from the company was due to a lot of the work she was doing was duplicate work being covered by Bruce Prichard and other executive assistants. Meltzer reported that Lubrano’s departure was not an individual firing but instead a part of a number of people let go in different departments for cost cutting reasons.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Andrew Karr was also among those who were laid off by WWE this past Thursday. It was reported that Karr had worked on EVOLVE as an announcer and had helped produce documentaries for WWE during his nine-year career with the company.

Karrion Kross recently released a new documentary video based on him titled “My Wrestlemania Weekend Ended In a Viral Moment.” During the video, Kross stated that he had suffered a ruptured eardrum injury during his match against AJ Styles on the March 14th episode of WWE SmackDown. Kross stated that he went to the doctor to get checked out and about one hour into getting his eardrum repaired, he passed out, lost color, and broke out into a full body sweat. Kross stated that he was able to get his eardrum repaired in time in order to work at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII this past April.

WWE recently released three new videos to their WCW Vault channel on YouTube. The first new video was a singles match of Eddie Guerrero vs. Lex Luger from the February 3, 1996 episode of WCW Saturday Night. The second new video was the full WCW Road Wild 1998 event. The third new video was the full December 28, 1985 episode of NWA World Championship Wrestling.

WWE also recently released three new videos to their WWE Vault channel on YouTube. The first new video was a WWE Championship Six-Man Tag Team match of The Legacy (Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase Jr., & Randy Orton) vs. Batista, Shane McMahon, & Triple H (c) from WWE Backlash 2009. The second new video was the full ” WWE SuperTape Vol. 4 | Warrior vs. Slaughter, Mr. Perfect, Big Boss Man in action” home video. The third new video was a WWE Championship Last Man Standing match of Batista vs. John Cena from WWE Extreme Rules 2010.

WWE also recently released two new videos to their NXT Vault channel on YouTube. The first new video was the full January 21, 2015 episode of WWE NXT. The second new video was the full January 28, 2015 episode of WWE NXT.
