Tony D’Angelo vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo Announced for WWE Battleground 2025

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured one new match announced for the card of WWE Battleground 2025.

This new match announced was a singles match of Tony D’Angelo vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

This match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over the bad blood issues between D’Angelo and Lorenzo over Lorenzo’s betrayal of the D’Angelo Family at this past April’s NXT Stand & Deliver 2025 event.

During Tony D’Angelo’s match against Wes Lee, a video aired on the big screen showing Stacks standing outside of a house at an undisclosed location. Stacks stated that he found out that this was the safe house that D’Angelo had sent Rizzo for protection in response to Stacks taking out Luca Crusifino in a desert. This led to D’Angelo getting distracted and got hit with a Cardiac Kick by Lee for the pinfall loss. Following the match, D’Angelo left the ring in a hurry to the back.

In a follow-up segment, D’Angelo was seen leaving the venue and told the camera guy who tried to get an interview to quickly get in the car with him to go see Rizzo. This led to D’Angelo’s driver hitting the gas and the car speeding away to the safe house.

In another follow-up segment, D’Angelo’s car arrived at the safe house and he got out to go check on Rizzo’s wellbeing only to quickly get ambush attacked by Stacks instead. After some words, Stacks stated that he will finish off D’Angelo and the Family once and for all at Battleground.

Later in the show, this match was made official for Battleground.

NXT North American Title Match Set for WWE Battleground 2025

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show also featured one new match set for the card of WWE Battleground 2025, which takes place on May 25th at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.

This new match announced was a NXT North American Championship match of winner of Sean Legacy/Je’Von Evans/Ashante “Thee” Adonis vs. Ricky Saints (c).

This match was setup following a backstage segment involving Evans, Adonis, and Saints.
