As noted before, Danhausen had been absent from AEW and Ring of Honor since February of 2023 with the exception of a surprise appearance he made at ROH’s Final Battle 2024 event this past December.
Figthful Select reported that their sources stated that Danhausen’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire this July unless time is added due to injury reasons. It was reported that it appears unlikely that an extension would come into play due to AEW officials having no creative plans or direction for him in recent months.
It was reported that those backstage at this past December’s ROH Final Battle 2024 event stated that Danhausen was warmly welcomed and believed he would be involved with ROH moving forward. Danhausen reportedly followed up several times in the weeks after the event but was informed by AEW/ROH officials that there were no immediate plans to bring him to TV that week. It was reported that nothing for Danhausen has materialized for him since then.
It was also reported that AEW officials have not had any creative plans to use Danhausen on television again but things could always change.
