Wednesday’s AEW Summer Blockbuster show in Portland, Oregon featured The Hurt Syndicate attacking Komander backstage and taking him out of their scheduled Trios match against JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey). Mascara Dorada replaced Komander as JetSpeed’s partner for the show.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that the reason for the injury angle for Komander was due to him currently dealing with a legitimate injury.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that Komander had suffered a legitimate injury during a match this past Sunday in Oaxaca, Mexico where he slipped on the ropes while doing his rope walk Fosbury Flop spot. Meltzer reported that Ultimo Guerrero “essentially saved” Komander’s life over the botched spot but Komander still ended up suffering an injury.
Meltzer reported that the exact nature nor severity of Komander’s injury is currently not known but he is currently not expected to be avaliable for next week’s Fantasticamania Mexico 2025 event for CMLL.
