AEW All In Texas Notes Part I: Josh Mathews Makes AEW On-Screen Debut, Samoa Joe Stretchered Out After Death Riders Attack, Juice Robinson & The Gunns Surprise Return, MJF Wins Men’s Casino Gauntlet, Dustin Rhodes Wins Vacant TNT Title

Josh Mathews Makes AEW On-Screen Debut

Saturday’s AEW All In Texas event at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas featured former TNA and current AEW producer Josh Mathews making his official on-screen debut in AEW.

During the Zero Hour Pre-show, Renee Paquette introduced Mathews for the pre-show panel to help preview the card for today’s show. After some thoughts about the card, Mathews introduced a previously recorded video of an interview segment he had with Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland about their match against The Young Bucks and the huge implications on the line for them and the Young Bucks.

Samoa Joe Stretchered Out After Attack by Death Riders at All In Texas

Saturday’s AEW All In Texas event also featured Samoa Joe suffering an “injury” at the hands of the Death Riders.

Following The Opps’ victory over the Death Riders to retain the AEW World Trios Championship, Gabe Kidd, Wheeler Yuta, & Claudio Castagnoli attacked Joe and laid him out. The Death Riders wrapped a chair around Joe’s head and Castagnoli gave a stomp on it knocking Joe out. This led to officials and medics rushing to the ring to attend to Joe resulting in a stretcher coming out and Joe being stretchered out of the ring and to the back.

Juice Robinson & The Gunns Make Surprise Return at All In Texas

Saturday’s AEW All In Texas event also featured the Bang Bang Gang’s Juice Robinson and The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) making their surprise returns.

During the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match, the clock counted down for the #10 entrant. This led to Robinson’s music playing and him coming out making his surprise return.

After some action, The Gates of Agony attacked Robinson despite them not being in the match but helping out Ricochet who was. This led to The Gunns’ music playing and them coming out with chairs in their hands. The Gunns proceeded to lay out the Gates of Agony and Ricochet clearing the ring of them. The Gunns then had a reunion moment with Robinson before leaving the ring.

This was Robinson’s first appearance since this past November due to a broken fibula injury and surgery. This was also The Gunns’ first appearance since this past February for unknown reasons that were not injury-related.

MJF Wins Men’s Casino Gauntlet Match

Saturday’s AEW All In Texas event also featured MJF winning the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match.

The competitors for this match in order were Mark Briscoe, MJF, Ricochet, Bandido, Konosuke Takeshita, Mistico, Josh Alexander, Anthony Bowens, Brody King, Juice Robinson, Kota Ibushi, The Beast Mortos, and Max Caster.

As a result of his victory, MJF earned a future shot at the AEW World Championship.

Dustin Rhodes Wins Vacant TNT Title

Saturday’s AEW All In Texas event also featured Dustin Rhodes defeating Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, and Kyle Fletcher in a Four-way match to become the new TNT Champion.

This title was vacated due to Adam Cole not being medically cleared to compete before the show.

This was Rhodes’ first ever TNT Championship and his first ever championship victory in his AEW career.
