Tony Khan Comments on “The Fans Are A Major Influence On Me, They’ve Been So Positive About AEW In 2025”
TMZ Sports held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about the constant flow of feedback for AEW shows and how fans do influence the booking in the company and he believes in listening to what they have to say to help improve shows.
“They do influence it, the fans are a huge major influence on me personally and on AEW. I really believe in listening to the fans and the fans have been so positive about AEW in 2025. It feels good when the feedback is so positive and right now, the conversation around AEW is very positive. I think it’s the most positive it’s been in four years and maybe ever. Right now, we’re having great trends. We’ve been able to grow the viewership quarter over quarter multiple quarters in a row. When the fan feedback is really positive, it feels good. I want to keep that going. It feels like people really like what’s happening in AEW this year, the conversation has been really good and I like hearing what the fans have to say, positive or any kind of feedback — especially if it’s constructive or anything you can use to make AEW better, that’s good for us.”

In a recent Q&A session for River City Wrestling Con, Shelton Benjamin gave his thoughts about his praise of AEW CEO Tony Khan for giving new life to his wrestling career since joining AEW. Benjamin stated “I think Tony’s been great. I like to point this out – no matter what your opinion is, Tony has created a lane for people to be on TV, have gainful employment, and make a name for themselves. So I think first and foremost, I commend him for that. Because he’s, you know, he’s given my career new life. He’s given guys who probably wouldn’t even get a sniff at the other place a chance to actually be stars. So I think that alone makes Tony a real special guy. Tony’s been nothing but great to me.” (Transcript h/t: F4WOnline.com)
In a recent interview with the AEW Close Up with Renee Paquette show, “Speedball” Mike Bailey gave his thoughts about his current pairing with Kevin Knight as JetSpeed in AEW. Bailey stated “Man, it’s crazy how that happened. It was just a random pairing. It started in a four-on-four match, but then we just became a tag team off the vibes.” Bailey also gave his thoughts about the reason why he believes he connects so well with Knight as a tag team. Bailey stated “I’ve been wrestling a lot longer than he has, but still, in his relatively short career, he’s done a lot of traveling, yes, and I feel like that’s what really made me the wrestler I am today, going and wrestling in so many different countries, having to wrestle in front of so many different audiences, against so many different kinds of opponent. He trained with New Japan in America, and he spent his entire career going back and forth between America and Japan, having to learn both styles, having to adapt to both audiences. I think that international style is really what makes the team work.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with The Ariel Helwani Show, former AEW and current TNA talents The Hardys’ Matt & Jeff Hardy gave their thoughts about what went wrong with their run in AEW and Jeff blaming himself for the issues with their time in AEW. Jeff stated “My personal problems. Getting in trouble with the law. I think I never got a fair chance to redeem myself. Coming back, at least that’s how I felt. I totally understood why they didn’t want to give me that chance. They probably can’t trust me. I’m just a liability. I was telling myself all these terrible things about getting what I got and getting arrested again. There is so much guilt and shame involved in that. Naturally, I beat myself up about it. I just don’t think we ever had a fair chance because of that. I blame myself all the time.” Matt responded stating “That probably factors into things, I think. He was back and I feel like he did pretty good to prove himself. I figured there would be a little bit of a testing period with him. With myself, Jeff, Adam [Cope], and Jay [Christian Cage] all together. I figured they would at least have us in the ring and if we’re doing something together, it would be a hell of a segment because there is so much value in the four of us being together because of our history. It didn’t happen. Tony Khan is a great guy. Paid me very well. I like him. Got along with him. He has his style and choice of wrestling that he likes to see and I don’t know if all of us factored in.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
