As noted before, Seth Rollins suffered an apparent knee injury during his match against LA Knight on Saturday’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Atlanta, Georgia. While Rollins was able to continue after some medical treatment, this match immediately went to the finish in a very likely audible being called and Rollins being helped to the back after receiving additional treatment in the ring.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Rollins injury was legitimate and something that had not been planned for storyline purposes.
Sapp reported that the severity of Rollins’ injury is currently not known.
In regards to WWE officials original plans for the match, Sapp reported that those spoken to confirmed that an audible had been called and Rollins was originally planned to win the match.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources also stated that the original plans were for Rollins to defeat Knight. Johnson reported that those spoken to confirmed that Knight’s victory was a last second call to end the match after Rollins had tweaked his knee.
