Jacob Fatu vs. Solo Sikoa for U.S. Title Steel Cage Match Announced for SummerSlam 2025

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured the second of two new matches announced for the card of SummerSlam 2025.

This new match announced was a WWE United States Championship Steel Cage match of Jacob Fatu vs. Solo Sikoa (c).

This match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over Fatu and Sikoa’s bad blood issues with each other. During tonight’s show Sikoa and the MFTs were seen involved in a car crash accident in the parking lot.

In a follow-up segment, the police were seen backstage asking RAW GM Adam Pearce, who filled in for Nick Aldis, where Fatu was leading to Pearce quickly finding Fatu and handing him over to the police as the leading suspect.

In another follow-up show, Sikoa & MFT came out to the ring and after some insults by Sikoa, a video aired on the big screen showing a police car showing up and letting Fatu out and a police officer apologizing saying he was not the prims suspect. This led to a brawl breaking out between Sikoa & the MFTs and Fatu & Jimmy Uso that ended with Fatu & Uso clearing the ring of the MFTs. This then led to Pearce coming out and after some angry words directed at Sikoa, he made a match between Fatu and Sikoa in a steel cage for Sikoa’s title at SummerSlam. Pearce also revealed that Sikoa had fraudulent blamed Fatu for Fatu’s arrest leading to the police coming out and arresting Sikoa for it.

Rey Fenix & Andrade Wins Shot at WWE Tag Team Titles

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured Rey Fenix & Andrade earning a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Fenix & Andrade defeated Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom), Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin), and DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) in a #1 Contender’s Fatal Four-way match for WWE Tag Team titles.

As a result of their victory, Fenix & Andrade will be facing off against the Wyatt Sicks for the WWE Tag Team titles at next week’s SmackDown show.

Street Fight Stip Set for Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2025

Friday’s WWE SmackDown show also featured one newly updated match announced for the card of SummerSlam 2025, which takes place on August 2-3 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

This newly updated match was an Undisputed WWE Championship Street Fight match of Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena (c).

This newly updated match was setup following a match contract signing segment involving RAW GM Adam Pearce, Rhodes, and Cena. After Rhodes came out to the ring and gave some words about his upcoming match and his family’s history with Texas, Rhodes signed the contract to make his involvement in the match at SummerSlam official. Cena tried to weasle his way out of the match saying he has other commitments and can’t make it to SummerSlam. After some more words, Cena left the ring leading to an upset Rhodes chasing him and a brawl breaking out at ringside. This brawl ended with the two back in the ring and Rhodes setting Cena on a table and going up to the top rope with the contract in his hand. Rhodes then hit a splash and grabbed Cena’s hand to sign the contract to make their match official.
