As noted before, TNA Wrestling is currently seeking a new media rights deal for around $10 million per year and there is the potential of Anthem selling off their sports division if TNA continues to not be profitable as a company.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that TNA has been in talks with both A&E and The CW as potential new broadcast homes for the company.
Meltzer reported that WWE has been involved in the talks due to the current working relationship between them and TNA.
Meltzer also reported that there is the possibility of TNA shifting its weekly Impact! show to a different night with Wednesday being described as the “best night” for WWE’s interest since it would put TNA directly against AEW’s Dynamite show. Meltzer also reported that he believes Sunday could also make sense for A&E since the network could use TNA as a lead-in to WWE’s WWE LFG reality competition series to try to help boost its struggling ratings.
