In a recent interview with The Ringer’s The Masked Man Show podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart gave his thoughts about his issues with his time in WCW and how both Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff were the reasons why WCW did not do anything with him. Hart stated “[Hulk] was a great guy and a great star and I got along really good with Hulk for years. I was one of his first matches. I helped make him from day one when the only move he knew how to do was a bear hug. I remember going out there and making him. I was a young guy and I was happy to do for him. I was good friends with Hulk. I was in Japan with him. In WWF, I always worked his undercards. I had so much respect for him and was always a friend to him. He was on top from 84 to 94. Thatās a long time wearing the crown. I will always shake my head and wonder what it was as to why he was such a roadblock for me. He wouldnāt do anything for me. He made sure, and I know this for a fact, he made sure when I was in WCW that they didnāt do anything for me. āDonāt do anything with him. Just leave him. Let him sit on the bench in the dressing room.ā WCW would fly me down in first class, first class car rental, first class hotel, and when I got to the building, they would tell me I was off and Iād just fly home. Thatās how stupid they were. They were a stupid bunch of idiots. Eric Bischoff, he was an absolute moron. I canāt say anything about WCW and how stupid they were. They were the dumbest idiots I ever had any involvement with.” (Transcript h/t: Figthful.com)
As noted before, National Wrestling Alliance talent Colby Cornio underwent emergency surgery this past Thursday for his neck and back. Corino provided an update on Thursday on Instagram thanking everyone who has donated to his GoFundMe fundraiser for his medical costs. Corino stated “I really want to thank everyone who has reached out/donated to my GFM in the past week. Iāve been trying to get back to everyone individually, but the (positively) overwhelming support and love everyone has shown me has been, well, overwhelming, in a good way though. For those who donāt know, I had to undergo emergency neck/spine surgery last Thursday. It was probably the scariest thing Iāve ever had to deal with and I never anticipated something like this would happen, especially so suddenly. The scariest part is I probably wouldnāt have even gone to the hospital if it wasnāt for @ariana.corino making me go when she noticed I had difficulty walking after using a massage gun on my neck one night. But after 5 nights in the hospital, a hair and beard cut, and picking up my old man walker, I am finally home! I have no idea how long Iāll be out for, even the shortest estimates place my return to the ring far on the horizon, but at least I will be able to take it one day at a time at home with my wife, son, and our animals. Given that wrestling was our familyās primary source of income, youāll probably be seeing me post merch for sale very soon, but if youād like to donate to the GFM set up by @sean_henderson_w (who deserves a post all to himself), Iāll post that in the comments. Thank you everyone whoās shown me love this past week. It really has helped me accept this situation and focus on my recovery and moving on to becoming the strongest Iāve ever been. No roadblock is big enough to keep me out of a ring. Itās just a matter of time.“
