As noted before, WWE NXT talent Jazmyn Nyx, real name Jade Gentile, will be leaving the company once her current contract expires. Nyx later revealed that she was leaving the company due their offer for a new three-year deal did not make financial sense for her. Nyx recently responded to a fan stating that she was not making six figures nor $80,000 per year in NXT.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that WWE officials wanted to keep Nyx but were unwilling to budge from their offer. Those spoken to within NXT reportedly stated that Nyx was making around $75,000 per year on her current deal with WWE and the same amount that was offered for a new multi-year deal. Sapp reported that it is currently not known if her pay would have escalated over time if she had accepted the new deal.
In regards to WWE’s current pay scale, Sapp reported that those spoken to stated that the overall pay scale for NXT Superstars varies from talent to talent but some can make significantly less than where Nyx was at financially when they are first recruited to the Performance Center. Sapp also reported that there are some on the NXT roster who are making north of six figures and even some who are making more than main roster minimum salary. Sapp reported that the minimum salary for a main roster talent is currently around $350,000 per year.
One NXT talent spoken to reportedly stated that Nyx likely ended up with less than $60,000 per year after taxes and “still incurs the cost of gear and the like.”
