As noted before, Brock Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE at this past August’s SummerSlam 2025 Night 2 event earlier this month and attacked John Cena to setup a feud between the two for Cena’s retirement tour.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Lesnar recently signed a new contract with WWE.
Meltzer reported that while Lesnar had been getting paid on his prior contract while he was away from WWE due to his involvement in the Vince McMahon sex trafficking lawsuit, his contract had actually expired months ago and he was a free agent until signing the new deal.
Lesnar’s new deal reportedly is for limited dates for his return.
Meltzer reported that WWE officials were unable to extend Lesnar’s prior deal using injury time clause while he was away due to him not being actually injured and instead it was their choice to not use him, which means his contract was never actually frozen.
