As noted before, TNA Hall of Famer and former TNA Head of Talent Relations Gail Kim has been involved in an online incident over the past week. This incident started with Kim making disparaging comments about deathmatch wrestling that led to her feuding online with Game Changer Wrestling and wrestling fans. Kim’s online rants then evolved into her making disparaging comments about Riho and her looks. This later evolved into her making negative comments about AEW and its fans after online backlash received from Kenny Omega and others about the hypocrisy of her comments about Riho and her repeating similar disparaging and sexist/racist-leaning talking points Jim Cornette has made about Riho in the past.
AEW music producer Mikey Rukus posted a cryptic tweet this past Friday that led to online speculation of him talking about Kim for a possible reason behind Kim’s recent online rants and bashing of AEW.
“I once interviewed a drummer who pestered me about joining my band. He was decent but didn’t fit the vibe we were looking for from just talking. Let him audition, was not good. When I didn’t hire him, he crashed out on socials. You guys ever seen that happen before?”
Journalist B. J. Bethel reported that his sources stated that Kim had contacted several people about a job opportunity at AEW at some point that was longer than a couple of weeks ago. Bethel reported that no one reached out back to her over it.
Kim responded earlier today on Twitter refuting Bethel’s report and clarified the contact she had with AEW for a possible work opportunity with the company.
“I don’t know you but this is a perfect example of someone lying and has zero integrity. At least when I say what I say, I’m saying what I feel and am truthful and will defend myself with facts. ZERO INTEGRITY here.”
In a follow-up tweet, Kim continued stating:
“The real news about what happened with AEW since people will lie etc. Iwas saving it for interviews but oh well it’s now.I got one text from AEW when I was terminated from TNA. It was from Sonjay and inquiring more about whether I wanted to wrestle. I’m retired. End of story.”
