Indie wrestler Robert Martyr was involved in an online incident on Wednesday following a concerning tweet he had posted implying that he was going to potentially end his life.
This tweet stated “It’s been real. I cannot handle the pain anymore. I genuinely hope I meant something.”
Following his tweet, Martyr’s sister posted a message on Twitter several hours later stating that she was unsure of Martyr’s whereabouts and asked for help from anyone who had seen or heard from him.
Martyr’s account provided an update on Thursday morning stating that he is safe and is currently being treated in a mental health facility.
“Hello everyone, Robert was found this morning and is safe. He will be monitored and treated in a mental health facility for the time being. Thank you all who reposted and were concerned. We will keep you all updated when possible. Thank you.”
Martyr has been wrestling since 2018 and has worked for various notable indies promotions including Game Changer Wrestling, Prestige Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Revolver, and West Coast Pro Wrestling. Martyr also has had stints in Marvelous and Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan.
