Dominik Mysterio Announced for September 27th AAA Alianzas Show

Lucha Libre AAA announced that AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio will be making an appearance for the company at their Alianzas show on September 27th at the Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City, Mexico.


Ozawa Lisfranc Ligament Injury Update – Ozawa Underwent Ligament Reconstruction Surgery

As noted before, Ozawa suffered an ankle injury earlier this month and was pulled by Pro Wrestling NOAH from the remainder of this year’s N-1 Victory tournament.

Ozawa provided an update on Monday on Twitter stating that he had underwent successful ligament reconstruction surgery on his foot.

“Exactly three years after my debut, I underwent foot ligament reconstruction surgery today.

To Marufuji-san, Kiyomiya-san, KENTA-san, Kenoh-san, and all the other wrestlers, as well as all the fans, I’m sorry for causing you trouble and worry.

Perhaps it’s karma, or maybe it’s the fate of someone who speaks ill of others to end up like this. I’ll reflect on it.”


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Netflix announced that this past Saturday’s Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford boxing event drew around 41.4 million total global views on their service over this past weekend. It was announced that viewership of the main event was around 20.3 million views in the United States.

Following Terence Crawford’s victory over Canelo Alvarez, Mercedes Mone responded on Twitter to a photo of Crawford holding six boxing championships titles. Mone stated “👀”

Monday’s Oudou Tournament 2025 event for All Japan Pro Wrestling featured Kento Miyahara defeating Ryuki Honda in the Finals to become the winner of this year’s Oudou Tournament.

TNA Wrestling recently announced that TNA International Champion Steve Maclin will be competing at the 24th annual Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K Run NYC on September 28th in New York City, New York.

Big Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Takuya Nomura was recently diagnosed with kidney failure but he currently does not require dialysis treatment. It was also announced that Nomura will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from wrestling as a result of his medical situation.

Marigold announced that Nagisa Tachibana recently suffered a neck injury and will be out of action for the remainder of this month as a result.

This past Sunday’s Green Mountain Classic event for Green Mountain Wrestling in Barre, Vermont featured Kevin Owens making a surprise video appearance. During the video, Owens referred to himself under his pre-WWE ring name of Kevin Steen and stated that he wishes he could have been at the show to present the tournament winner with the belt. Owens also talked about a move he performs being on one of the side plates for the Green Mountain Wrestling Championship.

As noted before, MJF made a surprise appearance at this past Saturday’s Fightland 2025 event for Major League Wrestling in North Richland Hills, Texas. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that MJF’s appearance was filmed this past June at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City when MJF was in attendance at MLW’s Summer of the Beasts 2025 event. Johnson reported that MJF was not in attendance backstage at MLW’s event in Texas.

As noted before, this past Saturday’s MLW Fightland 2025 event also featured Mads Krule Krugger defeating Matt Riddle and Donovan Dijack to become the new MLW World Heavyweight Champion. This quickly led to online speculation that Riddle’s time with MLW might be over due to his recent controversy over him no-showing a charity wrestling event and issues over comments he made about it. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that those spoken to within MLW stated that Riddle is still with the company and is currently scheduled to make an appearance at their upcoming Sluaghterhouse 2025 event.

MLW recently announced that next year’s Kings of Colosseum VI event will be taking place on January 10, 2026 at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas.
