Don Callis & The Costco Guys Makes Appearance at Saturday’s ROH TV Taping & Callis “Chokes Out” Big Justice

Ring of Honor held Ring of Honor held a new television tapings for ROH TV on Saturday at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This taping was held as part of AEW’s Collision tapings at the same venue that night.

In regards to notable moments from the tapings, Don Callis and The Costco Guys (Big Boom AJ & Big Justice) made a surprise appearance.

During the show, The Costco Guys came out to do their “bringing the boom” routine for the crowd. This led to Callis and Rocky Romero coming out to interrupt resulting in a confrontation between the two groups that turned physical. Callis and Romero attacked AJ leading to Big Justice trying to help his dad to no avail after he got kicked in the nuts by Romero and Callis choked him with a jacket.


Eric Bischoff Comments on Being in Talks with FOX & Other Networks for Weekly RAF Shows

The Hollywood Reporter held a recent interview with Real American Freestyle Wrestling co-owner Eric Bischoff. One of the topics discussed included Bischoff’s thoughts about a potential television deal for his RAF promotion.

“I really think there’s a market for it, and it’s a big part of our future.”

Bischoff also gave his thoughts about him and his business partner Chad Bronstein currently being in talks with FOX and other television networks for potential weekly RAF shows.

“You know, I don’t mind Saturday nights. I’ll be honest with you, it’s not the greatest night for television in terms of HUT — households using television — and so forth, but it works for me. We gotta stay away from Monday night because you’re gonna have football. Thursday you’ve got football. There’s a lot of wrestling on Monday night (WWE) and Friday night (WWE) and Wednesday night with AEW.”

Bischoff also gave his thoughts about WWE President Nick Khan reached out to him following RAF’s debut event.

“He just said, ‘Hey, man, solid event — awesome, great job.”

Bischoff also gave his thoughts about the potential that TKO could become a partner in RAF.

“There’s been no no discussions beyond that. I think it’s a little early, a little bit. Maybe we got a couple of years before we start having those conversations.”


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Revolution Pro Wrestling recently announced that next year’s 14th Anniversary event will be taking place on August 29, 2026 at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, England.

Figthful Select reported that their sources stated that former Ring of Honor wrestler Will Ferrara has been working backstage for TNA Wrestling at their recent Impact! tapings. It was reported that Ferrara was initially brought in for a trial run as an associate producer but he impressed TNA officials enough that the company decided to bring him on officially. Those spoken to reportedly stated that the word going around backstage is that Ferrara has been a welcome addition to the team and several talents on the roster are already familiar with him from previous stops in their careers.

As noted before, AEW and ROH talent Matt Sydal has been out of action since June of 2024. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that Sydal quietly made his return to the ring for an event for ABC 15eme Festival International De Catch this past July. Sapp reported that Sydal had competed in a match against Ultimo Dragon at the event.

This past Friday’s CMLL Super Viernes show at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico featured Galeón Fantasma (Difunto & Barboza) defeating Los Mitologicos Dragons (Dragon de Fuego & Dragon Legendario) in a Semifinal Round match to advance to the finals of this year’s Copa Independencia tournament.

This past Friday’s special episode of ROH TV featured indies wrestler Stori Denali making her surprise ROH debut appearance. During the tag team match between the Premier Athletes (Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari) and Spanish Announce Project (Angelico & Serpentico), Mark Sterling distracted the referee leading to Denali coming out and hit a chokeslam to Serpentico. This led to Premier Athletes securing the pinfall victory and Denali celebrating with the Premier Athletes revealing herself as the newest member of the group.

This past Friday’s special episode of ROH TV also featured Deonna Purrazzo and Trish Adora advancing to the Semifinal Round of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament. Purrazzo defeated Rachael Ellering and Adora defeated Ashley Vox in the Quarterfinal round. Purrazzo will be facing off against Adora in the Semifinal Round of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament.

Ring of Honor reportedly drew an attendance of 916 for their Death Before Dishonor event at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer that Nielsen will be unveiling a new measurement method called “Big Data + Panel” starting this week for sports games viewership and ratings. Meltzer reported that this new ratings measurement will feature live streaming numbers being included for the live viewership numbers for sports games on television. This new method reportedly was spearheaded by the NFL who felt that by not including streaming viewership, their ratings for NFL games were being undercut by between 5% to 20% per game. Meltzer reported that Nielsen will now be getting live streaming numbers from Amazon Prime, Netflix, and YouTube and are currently in talks to include ESPN+ and ESPN DTC, Tubi, Peacock and Paramount by 2026. Meltzer also reported that this new method will also include shows watched on internet-connected smart TVs and will include streaming numbers. Meltzer also reported that it is currently not known if pro wrestling shows will be part of this new ratings measurement method. Meltzer also reported that within the TV industry, the current belief is that ratings and viewership for the major sports will grow by five to ten percent and perhaps even more with this new method.

WWE recently announced the full card for their upcoming next WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event on September 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada. This card reveal was notable for a photo of LA Park that was used for the 8-Man Lucha Showcase match graphic but the wrestler listed being La Parka (third version). LA Park, original La Parka, recently commented on Twitter confirming that he will not be at WWE’s upcoming Worlds Collide event. LA Park statedYou already know how they always put me up there to confuse people, but it’s not me, well, the one in the image is me, but I’m not going to go.
