Shawn Michaels Confirms He’s Undergoing Knees Replacement Surgery In A Month
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash had stated in an episode of his Kliq This! podcast that WWE SVP of NXT and Talent Relations Shawn Michaels had underwent back-related surgery and needed to get both his knees replaced.
Nightcap held a recent interview with Michaels. One of the topics discussed included Michaels’ thoughts about if he would do his wrestling career all over again knowing what he knows now about the toll on his body and him confirming he will be undergoing knees replacement surgery in a month.
“Hell yes. I’ve had my back fused. I’ve had my shoulder replaced. I got two knees that I’m getting replaced in, probably in a month. I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I knew that going in. I knew the price that was going to come along with it. When I worked on the road, we did 286 days. When I got a part-time schedule, it was 150 days. I enjoyed every minute.”

Reason for Nino Hamburguesa Being Pulled From WWE x AAA Worlds Collide: Las Vegas Event
As noted before, WWE had made two changes to the advertised 8-Man Lucha Showcase match prior to the start of Friday’s WWE x AAA Worlds Collide: Las Vegas event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first change was Laredo Kid replacing La Parka and the second change was La Parka being put back into the match but replacing Nino Hamburguesa.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that the reason for Hamburguesa’s removal from both the match and the show was due to visa issues.
Meltzer reported that Hamburguesa’s visa issues was a topic within WWE throughout this week and was something he was not able to get taken care of in time for the show.
Update on John Cena’s Retirement Match Not Taking Place in Boston
As noted before, Washington, D.C. is currently scheduled to be the location for John Cena’s retirement match at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show on December 13th. The city of Boston had been long rumored to be the location until WWE’s recent announcement of Cena’s final appearance in Boston will be on November 10th.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that the reason for WWE’s decision for Washington D.C. being the host location was due to financial reasons. Those spoken to with knowledge of the talks with Boston stated that WWE had asked for a site fee that was similar to the $7 million that New Jersey paid for this past August’s two-night SummerSlam 2025 event.
Meltzer reported that Boston city officials felt that WWE’s asking price was too high due to they did not believe less than two weeks before Christmas that a show in the area would generate anywhere near the level of tourism to justify the cost. Meltzer also reported that it wasn’t that level in just cash but a figure in that range for the value of everything the city would provide that WWE was looking for Cena’s retirement match show.
Meltzer reported that it is currently not known if WWE’s decision for Washington D.C. to be the host city was for similar money. Meltzer also reported that some within WWE currently feel that the show being in the city would make it likely that President Trump would appear. Trump reportedly is currently scheduled to attend the annual Army vs. Navy football game that day which starts at 3PM EST in Baltimore, Maryland.
