As noted before, Chris Jericho’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire by the end of 2025 and he has been absent from the company since this past April. During his time away, Jericho had reached out to WWE about a potential return to the company once his contract with AEW expires. Jericho recently announced the talent list for his upcoming new Chris Jericho’s Rock N Wrestling Ranger At Sea cruise event in November of 2026 that was notable for no AEW talent being listed.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that there has been no word recently of Jericho being brought back in AEW in a creative capacity. Sapp reported that Jericho typically discusses his creative with AEW CEO Tony Khan and those spoken to stated that his relationship with AEW remains strong. Sapp reported that there is no one close to Jericho that has expressed his view on the matter when contacted.
Sapp reported that there are several global and national companies who are currently interested in Jericho. Among those interested reportedly includes WWE but it is currently not known if there has been any direct conversations in the company about Jericho. Sapp also reported that it is also currently not known if any creative ideas have been discussed within WWE but higher-up officials in the company have brought his name up.
One source spoken to in WWE reportedly stated that they believe Jericho would almost 100$ be offered a deal worth “several million dollars” per tear to return to the company. This same source reportedly also stated that they believe AEW could match such an offer. This same source reportedly also stated that they are currently not sure what Jericho’s motivations are for the future of his wrestling career.
