As noted before, WWE hired Cyrus Kowsari this past September to be their new senior director of creative strategy. This hire was part of WWE’s plans to transition into using artificial intelligence for both creative storytelling and production.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE’s creative team has been using AI tool for years but it is being used more like a creative assistant to determine things such as when two wrestlers last had a match in the company. It was reported that nobody on WWE’s creative team knew of anyone who has used the AI system for more than a “couple of minutes.”
In regard to WWEs’ recent hiring of Kowsari, it was reported that those spoken to stated that the creative team is currently under the impression that he is being brought in to help find ways to have AI remove background noise in shots, organize files quickly, or work on the production elements of WWE’s shows instead of creative purposes.
It was reported that those spoken to also stated that AI will not replace the company’s creative writing team. One top talent spoken to reportedly stated that “Michael Hayes, Paul Heyman and Ed Koskey are not AI.”
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that his original report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter was misinterpreted and clarified that WWE is not actually using AI for creative purposes to write storylines and book their shows.
