Ridge Holland Lisfranc Injury Status Update – Holland Says He’s Speaking with Specialist & Might Require Surgery

As noted before, Ridge Holland, real name Luke Menzies will be leaving WWE once his contract expires on November 14th due to it not being renewed. Holland has been out of action since this past September due to a lisfranc injury he suffered at a TNA Impact! taping.

Holland provided an update earlier today on Twitter stating that he has been speaking to a neck specialist about his neck injury and the possibility of him needing to undergo surgery to fix it.

“So, just a bit of an update. Next Tuesday, I’ve got to go to Birmingham, Alabama to have the cast off, some more X-Rays to make sure that the foot is all good and we can go to partial weight bearing. The kicker is that prior to the foot, I had a neck injury that was going to get imaging for. I got imaging for that post-foot surgery and I’m going to Birmingham to see the neck specialist. Worst case scenario, I’ll need neck surgery and I’m hoping for the best case scenario, which is injections but I’m having some nerve impingement which is sending pain down my arm, so I’m a little bit apprehensive about what’s going to happen because it’s another kick in the balls, really. I’ll keep you posted.”

Andrade El Idolo Advertised for November 1st Big Time Wrestling Event in Maine

In a recent interview with the Dallas Morning News, Athena gave her thoughts about her promotion Metroplex Wrestling’s upcoming all-women’s Who Runs The World? 2 event later this month in Irving, Texas. Athena stated “It’s probably the most stressful thing I do, outside of dealing with my own stuff at work and trying to be creative for me. Trying to be creative for the girls is so much more difficult than I think anyone would ever realize. We’re being a little ambitious this time. We’re going to Southern Junction, which is an awesome venue, an awesome bar, as well, sits up to 1,000 people. I might be overreaching, but I think me and my girls can do it. These girls, here’s the thing, I know my girls are going to put on a great, phenomenal show. You’ve seen them around the world, and a lot of them have so much more to prove. WRTW 2 is about establishing that we’re not going anywhere. We’re going to continue to rise, continue to grow, and continue to show you new women that you’ve never seen before. I love watching independent wrestling. I grew up on the independent scene. I spent nine years there before I got signed to WWE. … I think there are too many dream matches out there that we’re not getting to see, especially in the state of Texas But WRTW is kind of like my passion project. I’ve always wanted a place where women could pick up each other and kind of just push each other to new limits in a different way. … I see a whole bunch of hungry women that just need an opportunity to show the world what they can do. And what better way to give back to the women’s wrestling world than to produce and fund something as big as ‘Who Runs The World?’
