Stephanie Vaquer Comments on WrestlePalooza Match With IYO SKY Being Best Match Of Her Career So Far

ESPN held a recent interview with WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. One of the topics discussed included Vaquer’s thoughts about her match against IYO SKY for the Vacant WWE Women’s World Championship at WWE Wrestlepalooza being the best match of her wrestling career so far.

“It was the best [match] of my career so far, and the result of the match was the dream of my life.

I’m proud because it wasn’t just a match for the most important championship, it was against one of the best in the world, Iyo Sky, someone I’ve admired for many years. So, the fact that I could compete for this title with her proved in the ring why we are both among the best in the world right now.”

In a separate recent interview with PWInsider, Vaquer also gave some new details regarding the recent illness she had that led to her abscense from WWE in the lead-up to her match against IYO SKY.

“I was sick for three weeks before my match, but really sick. I had a bacteria in my throat. Something really weird. I couldn’t eat or drink anything for three days. I felt so weak, so bad, but all the WWE medical team helped me and supported me a lot.”

Blake Monroe Comments on Her Decision to Leave AEW & Join WWE

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured Blake Monroe as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Monroe’s thoughts about her decision to leave AEW and how she had considered returning to Japan before joining WWE.

“I had a fantastic experience and I did things that I’m so proud of and cherish. I had a really short contract and when it came to an end, there were positives and negatives. It got to the point in wrestling where, I did have an amazing story, but that was the one thing. I didn’t have much else. I just thought, ‘Is this everything I want?’ I also considered going to Japan, which nobody knows. It’s something I talked to them about. When my deal was up, people were like, ‘Just talk to WWE and see.’ I wasn’t considering it. That’s not an insult to WWE. I always just try to focus on one thing at a time and I just hadn’t considered it. When I talked to them and they cared so much about The Glamour and all these different things. I was like, ‘Okay, now I do have a big choice to make.’ I sat and thought about it. It was a really tough decision. It just came down to, I did everything I needed to do. I feel like I told a great story, and I made people feel something, and it’s time to close that chapter and start a new one. Getting a new name and a whole new experience. There are so many women here. Women’s wrestling is very important in WWE. As a woman, that’s something I want to be a part of. All these different matches and possibilities, to me, it was a great deal. It was a challenge, and I want a challenge.”
