As noted before, Andrade El Idolo has been absent from AEW since this past October due to issues over him currently being under a non-compete clause with WWE after his firing from the company this past September. This non-compete clause is currently believed to be for one year in length over WWE’s claims that he breached his contract from his firing. Andrade stated in a recent interview with DeporTV that his lawyers are currently in talks with WWE to resolve his non-compete clause legal issue. Andrade recently made appearances for WWC, House of Glory, and NJPW over the past week.
Fightful Select reported that Andrade’s deal with WWE ended around December 12th and he officially became a free agent and is allowed to sign with any company he pleases.
In regards to Andrade’s non-compete clause, it was reported that RUSH had introduced Andrade to an attorney and representative that has worked closely with WWE for years. This person reportedly was able to get Andrade’s one-year non-compere clause waived allowing him to be able to work elsewhere.
It was reported that Andrade’s work visa was terminated when he was fired by WWE but he is back in the United States for now and his visa situation is currently being handled.
