As noted before, MJF has been absent for AEW since this past September’s All Out 2025 event due to filming commitments for the upcoming new Violent Night 2 film.
Bryan Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live that his sources stated that MJF recently finished his filming commitments for the upcoming new Violent Night 2 film.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that MJF has been in attendance backstage at recent AEW shows.
Alvarez reported that MJF is “strongly expected” to make his return appearance for the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal match at next week’s AEW Dynamite and Collision Holiday Bash 2025 show on December 17th in Manchester, England.
In regards to potential plans for the AEW World Championship at this month’s Worlds End 2025 event, Alvarez reported that MJF still holds his Men’s Casino Gauntlet contract that guarantees him a title shot and speculated that he could be involved in the AEW World title match at AEW’s Worlds End 2025 event on December 27th. Alvarez also speculated that the AEW World title match could be a multi-person match at the event.
