As noted before, Monday’s NJPW Road to Tokyo Dome event featured DDT Pro and indies talent Chris Brookes making a surprise appearance and accepting El Phantasmo’s open challenge for his NJPW World Television Championship match for Wrestle Kingdom 20.
New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Brookes vs. El Phantasmo for the NJPW World TV title has been made official for Wrestle Kingdom 20, which takes place on January 4, 2026 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. It was also announced that this match will be taking place at Wrestle Kingdom’s Kickoff pre-show.
It was also confirmed that Andrade El Idolo has been officially added to United Empire’s team for their 10-Man tag team match against Shingo Takagi, David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, Drilla Moloney, & Hiromu Takahashi at the show.
The full field for the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship Ranbo match was also announced for the show. This match was announced to be featuring eight teams in total.
