David Finlay Issues Challenge to Callum Newman & United Empire for Wrestle Kingdom 20

Sunday’s NJPW World Tag League 2025 Finals event at the Grandmesse Kumamoto in Mashiki, Japan featured David Finlay issuing a challenge to Callum Newman for a match at Wrestle Kingdom 20, which takes place on January 4m 2026 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.

Near the end of the tag team match between Hiromu Takahashi & Finlay and United Empire (Newman & Great-O-Khan), Callum chucked a chair at Finlay’s head resulting in the referee calling for the bell. Following the match, Newman attacked Takahashi with his GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship belt and spit on it. Newman then grabbed Gedo and attempted to Pilmanize him only for Finlay to run into the ring and chase Newman away. As Newman and Khan left through the crowd, Finaly grabbed a microphone and gave some angry words directed at Newman. Finlay then grabbed United Empire’s Jakob Austin Young and laid him out. Finlay then issued a challenge to Newman and United Kingdom for a match at Wrestle Kingdom 20.


Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr. Wins World Tag League 2025

Sunday’s NJPW World Tag League 2025 Finals also featured TMDK’s Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr. defeating Yota Tsuji & Gabe Kidd in the Finals of the World Tag League to become the winners of this year’s tournament.

This was the first time TMDK as a group and the first time that Oiwa and Sabre Jr. won the World Tag League tournament in their NJPW careers.
