Logan Paul Confirms Travis Scott Was Supposed to Wrestle in WWE Before Plans Were Scrapped
As noted before, WWE had plans at one point for John Cena to team up with rapper Travis Scott in a potential tag team match at this past June’s Money in the Bank 2025 event. Those plans were later dropped due to WWE having a full falling out with Scott over issues with his lack of commitment towards wrestling.
A recent episode of the ImPaulsive podcast featured host and WWE talent Logan Paul confirming that WWE had plans at one point for Scott to wrestle in the company this year. Paul also gave his thoughts about why he believes Scott decided against wrestling a match in WWE.
“I think I know what happened without being told what happened, but can kind of read between the lines of what was going on. Here’s what I think happened. I was very excited for him to enter the WWE. We were supposed to team up with one other person. It was supposed to be three-on-three. The day that it was supposed to be announced, he didn’t show up.
I think what happened is, my guess is, he probably realized at some point that it’s really physically demanding, really hard, and a lot of work. It’s probably too much commitment for someone who is a rockstar of his caliber. Bad Bunny loves it and put in the time and became a good wrestler. Wrestling is a lot about navigating pain. It all really hurts. Some things hurt less, but it all hurts. I think a lot of people think the mat is bouncy and soft, I thought that before I got into WWE, and the first time I touched the canvas, I was like, ‘When do they bring in the trampoline mat and prop chairs?’ It hurts. I think at some point, Travis probably realized that it’s pretty hard. I would like to see him make a real run at it, but I think that’s what happened.”

John Cena Says AJ Styles Told Him He Doesn’t Want A Retirement Tour For His Wrestling Career Retirement in 2026
A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured John Cena as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cena’s thoughts about how AJ Styles had told him that he doesn’t want a retirement tour for his own retirement from his wrestling career in 2026.
“AJ Styles, such a great dude. I got to talk to him a little bit while we were locked in our program this year. ‘AJ, there are a lot of people who really admire you out there. I know you’re thinking of calling it quits soon. Do you think there is any possibility that you would try to do something like this I honestly think people would pay to see you one last time.’ He’s literally tying his shoes. He turns to me and goes, ‘Man, I’m 48.’ As soon as the words left his mouth, he didn’t have to say anything else. Something about that late 40s where he’s like, ‘I’m already overstaying my physical welcome, they just don’t see it,’ because they don’t see what goes into prep, cool down, recovery. ‘I’m already riding that razor’s edge.’ You can’t tell. He still looks great and does great stuff, but he can’t stay another second because he doesn’t want to put out a product that isn’t AJ Styles.”

WWE reportedly will go back to holding live NXT shows starting on January 6, 2026 with the NXT New Year’s Evil 2026 show.
BodySlam.net reported that their sources stated that WWE developmental talent Anthony Luke was recently given a new ring name ahead of his NXT debut. Luke reportedly will not be known under the new ring name of Cam Hendricks going forward in WWE.
The Undertaker recently announced that AJ Styles will be the guest for a live episode of his Six Feet Under with The Undertaker podcast on December 12th.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that at least two different people have portrayed the mystery masked person who showed up at this past November’s Survivor Series WarGames 2025 event and this past Monday’s WWE RAW show. Alvarez reported that it appears this is WWE officials way of throwing off fans from being able to correctly guess who the mystery person will actually be when its time for that person to reveal themselves.
John Cena recently announced on Twitter that he will be sitting down for a new interview with Tom Rindali following his retirement match at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show on December 13th in Washington, D.C. Cena stated “What an honor to share time and conversation with Tom. The epitome of professionalism with insatiable curiosity and the comfort of speaking to a longtime friend. I promised him immediately after this conversation I would be back post 12/13 for another. Can’t wait for that and hope you enjoy this as much as I did.“
In a recent interview with the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, John Cena gave his thoughts about his match with CM Punk at this past June’s WWE Night of Champions 2025 event in Saudi Arabia being his favorite moment of 2025. Cena stated “That moment with Punk in Saudi. That transcends wrestling. To see cultures bridged. To see genuine forgiveness. I’m watching that pre-show bawling. It’s a pre-show.” Cena also gave his thoughts about why the moment with Punk in Saudi Arabia meant so much to him. Cena stated “Unfolding before our eyes is accountability and genuine forgiveness and the bridging of cultural gaps. People who might not know a lot about each other or understand each other are getting along in harmony through this one thing that we dig: wrestling. What a global conduit to peace, excitement, and happiness. I’m just glad that I was his opponent so I could be attached to that moment. That pre-show, man, that is what we do. He made that trip knowing it was going to be uneasy and knowing he was going to have to be accountable, and just leaned in. In a moment, people were like, ‘Oh, I’m heard. Yes, I’m ready to forgive.’ Astonishing. To top it all off, ‘I think we’ve bridged the gap here,’ and then for him to go out and smoke in the promo. Drop heat in the gimmick. It was beautiful. The one that almost got me to break, in between one of his lines, he said, ‘I miss you already.’ I almost lost it right in front of him. That’s one of the best moments I’ve ever been a part of.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
