Zayda Steel Makes AEW On-Screen Debut
Saturday’s AEW Collision show at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, Texas featured former WWE ID and current ROH talent Zayda Steel making her official on-screen debut in AEW.
Prior to the start of the Trios match between the Death Riders and SkyFlight, Steel came out to the ring alongside SkyFlight’s Scorpio Sky and Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin) to be in their corner.

During the match, Steel confronted Marina Shafir after Shafir tried to interfere leading to one more confrontation between the two after the match that ended with Megan Bayne running out and laying out Steel with a running Liger Bomb.

Steel has made several appearances for ROH since her official debut this past December and was revealed as the newest member of SkyFlight on the January 8th episode of ROH TV.
Mercedes Mone Says She’s Taking Break from AEW & Collecting More Than Just Titles When She Returns
Saturday’s AEW Collision show also featured Mercedes Mone announcing she is taking a break from AEW for the foreseeable future.
During the show, a video aired featuring Mone seated on the floor in a room with cake all over herself after being humiliated by Babes of Wrath and Kris Statlander and slammed on it by Willow Nightingale at this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show. Mone talked about her record setting reign as TBS Champion and listed off all of her accomplishments. After some more words, Mone stated that she is taking a break from AEW and claimed everyone will miss her and when she returns, she is going to collect more than just titles.

Current Card for Jan. 17th AEW Collision Maximum Carnage 2026 Show
Saturday’s AEW Collision show also featured one new match announced for the card of next week’s Collision Maximum Carnage 2026 show on January 17th.
This upcoming show will be taped on Wednesday, January 14th at the Arizona Financial Theater as part of that night’s AEW Dynamite tapings.
This new match announced was a tag team match of Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson). This new match was setup following a backstage interview segment involving Kingston, Ortiz, and Grizzled Young Veterans.
