Potential Next Destination for Tommaso Ciampa’s Wrestling Career

As noted before, Tommaso Ciampa’s contract with WWE is currently set to expire soon and he recently confirmed that he will be leaving the company.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that there has been recent talks of Ciampa potentially going to New Japan Pro Wrestling for the next destination in his wrestling career.

Meltzer speculated that Ciampa would fit in style wise with AEW but due to its large roster filled with top talent, it would be a tough place for him to break through for his wrestling career. Meltzer also speculated that Ciampa’s push for indie bookings would seem to indicate that he didn’t leave WWE for AEW at least right away.

EVIL’s Expected NJPW Departure & Joining WWE Update

As noted before, EVIL has been rumored to be looking at options for the future of his wrestling career outside of NJPW. EVIL is currently rumored to have recently given his notice to NJPW and is expected to be joining WWE.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that EVIL was not listed for any of the cards for NJPW’s upcoming shows through February 11th. EVIL had made his first appearance for NJPW since Wrestle Kingdom 20 earlier this month at their Road to The New Beginning 2026 event on January 20th in Tokyo. EVIL competed in an Eight-Man Tag Team match with HOUSE OF TORTURE’s Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi, & Dick Togo against Aaron Wolf, Toru Yano, Yoh, & Master Wato. Meltzer reported that there was no post-match angle afterwards involving EVIL or anything related to HOUSE OF TORTURE.

Meltzer reported that the current belief is that EVIL is heading to WWE. EVIL and Io SKY reportedly were a couple in Japan but it is currently not known if they still are a couple due to it would have been years of a long distance relationship after SKY joined WWE.

In regards to WWE, Meltzer reported that none of those spoken to within WWE has confirmed that EVIL will be joining their company as of the release of his report.
