AJ Styles Comments on His Wrestling Career Retirement Plans for 2026
A recent episode of the Six Feet Under with The Undertaker podcast featured AJ Styles as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Styles’ thoughts about his current plans for his in-ring wrestling career retirement in 2026.
“Here’s the thing about retirement, it is the opportunity to go out of your way not because of injury but standing on your own two feet, and the goal of working is to retire. And to be able to do that, to me, is a celebration, so I hope that when it does happen, you guys celebrate with me that I achieved my goals.”
Styles also gave his thoughts about how he wants to work with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels in some capacity and in the ring at some point.
“You never know. One day we might be rolling around with no one watching it. That would be enough for me.
The thing that I regret the most about not being able to get in the ring with Shawn Michaels is the opportunity to learn from him. That would have been priceless. It just wasn’t meant to be. Hopefully we’ll get the opportunity to work together in some capacity, whether it’s developing talent or just helping the brand get better altogether.”

R-Truth Comments on How He Felt “Numb” Following His Release from WWE in 2025
As noted before, R-Truth made his surprise return to WWE at this past June’s Money in the Bank 2025 following him departing the company earlier that month after his contract was not renewed.
A recent episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show podcast featured R-Truth as the guest. One of the topics discussed included R-Truth’s thoughts about how he had felt “numb” following his release from WWE and the outpouring support he received leading to his return to the company shortly afterwards.
“It was numb, Steve. Sometimes we lose and forget who we are. There are people my age and older, their time ain’t up. I think father time, each individual has its own time when it’s time, and we have time to make something happen within that time.
I think everything that happened happened at the right time for me, because as we saw, man, I’m more popular and valuable than I’ve ever been in my life and my career. Over hundreds of millions of people showed and told me that.”
