As noted before, Hechicero has been out of action for AEW and CMLL since mid-January due to an undisclosed injury.
CMLL held a media call earlier today featuring Hechicero as one of the guests. One of the topics discussed included Hechicero providing an update on his recovery from his injury stating that he is medically cleared for an in-ring return. Hechicero also stated that while he is officially cleared, he is not 100% confident in him being able to make an in-ring return yet.
“Well, obviously I am not 100% in terms of confidence, because while I’ve already been cleared by the doctor and I’m already announced for this Friday at the Arena Mexico. Regaining confidence in movement, you can train, you can rehabilitate, but once you’re in the ring, the inertia of the movements, the explosion, the improvisation, the reflexes are exposed, and well, it’s the confidence you have to take.
It was a difficult two weeks. I don’t like to pause. When I tore part of my bicep during the 91st Anniversary mask match, I didn’t pause. Obviously, I was always under medical supervision, and the condition was that I didn’t limit myself or my colleagues in terms of work intensity or movements, and well, the condition is the same. I’m ready to return, and I reiterate, I take advantage of your cameras and microphones to reiterate my apology to the cities, the arenas, the promoters, and the fans with whom I was unable to fulfill my commitments, but I hope to be reconsidered soon to visit you and be with all of you.”
