As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently denied rumors of him wrestling again in the future. These rumors originated from a virtual fan signing event for K&S WrestleFest that involved Flair revealing that he had been offered a match against Ricky Morton but turned it down due they were off on financial terms.
Morton responded earlier today on Twitter stating that he was passing on the idea of having a potential match against Flair in the future. Morton also stated that Flair already had competed in his last match for his wrestling career and that is something that needs to be respected and celebrated forever.
“As cool and exciting as it sounds, I’m going to have to pass on the idea of one more match vs. Ric Flair. Ric already had his last match, and it was an honor to be part of that show. Some moments don’t need a sequel. They need to be respected, remembered, and celebrated forever.”
In a follow-up post, Morton stated that if he were to ever have a retirement match, he would want it to be for either Game Changer Wrestling or the National Wrestling Alliance.
“& if we ever were to do it… It would be on my terms. It would either be in a @GCWrestling_ or @nwa wrestling ring.”
