Backstage: The Infantry, Trish Adora, Christyan XO

The show kicked off with the Infantry, Trish Adora and Tall Lady Who’s Name I Forget talking about how great Adora is going to do in her match tonight against Deonna Purrazzo. Adora said that Purrazzo has be lucky up until now and her luck ends tonight.

JD Drake vs. Adam Priest

I swear if you had asked me if this match had already aired on ROH, I’d have to say yes. However, I’d be wrong, so tonight we get to see these two powerhouses face off.

Drake actually called out Priest two weeks ago, and as the match started Drake over powered Priest, throwing him to the mat twice and then no-selling a chop. Drake knocked Priest down every time he got back up, clearly in control in the early going.

Priest managed to get a spinning kick in, sending Drake out of the ring. Priest dropkicked him through the ropes, but Drake came back and dropped a hammer across the skull of Priest. He threw him back in the ring and crushed him with a senton.

Drake hit a drop-down head butt and Priest came up swinging. Priest tried a sunset flip, but Drake turned it into a leg drop over Priest’s throat. Drake manhandled Priest, sending him to the corner and choking him on the ropes.

Priest came back with some chops, but Drake dodged it. Priest tried another sunset, but Drake countered again with a leg drop. This time though, Priest got out from underneath, causing Drake to hurt his butt, I guess.

Either way, that changed the momentum and Priest was able to get a satellite DDT in for a two count. Priest went back up top, but Drake shoved the ref into the ropes to knock him off. Drake went up for a superplex, but Priest countered it into a sunset bomb for another two count.

Priest went for suplex, but Drake countered witha shining wizard followed by a lariat to the ear. Drake started screaming for Priest to “stay down!” but I don’t think Priest heard him because he rolled up Drake and stole the win.

Winner: Adam Priest via Pinfall.

The Frat House (Griff Garrison & Cole Carter) vs. TMDK (Shane Haste & Bad Dude Tito)

I’ve never been happier to see TMDK because it meant that most if not all of the Frat House were about to get punched in the face.

Garrison and Karter jumped Tito off the bell and double teamed him with some fast tags. Karter hoisted him up on his shoulders and Garrison came off the ropes with a a dropkick. Tito started fighting back though, chopping both Fratters until Garrison kicked him in the gut. He then launched both men across the ring with a double underhook suplex.

Haste tagged in and made short work of Karter with the highest cannonball in the corner I’ve ever seen. Karter came back with an elbow, but Haste countered with a falcon arrow. Tito tagged back in and he and Garrison fought until Tito suplexed him across the ring.

Garrison slid out, so Tito dove after him, taking out the frat house. In the ring Haste hit a spinning slam on Karter and that was it. TMDK gets the win.

ROH Women’s World Television Championship
Zayda Steel vs. Red Velvet (c)

Steel has been touted as a blue chipper, but to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever seen her win a match. Hanging out with Christopher Daniels should change that though.

The two locked up off the top, with Steel holding her own against Velvet. She grabbed a wasitlock, but Velvet reversed it into a headlock. Steel reversed that, and then dropped Velvet with a shoulder block.

Steel came off the ropes and Velvet took her down with an armdrag into an arm bar. Steel sent Velvet into the corner and tried to get her with a backslide, but Velvet kicked out at two. Steel rolled her up again, but only got a two count.

They locked up and rolled around the ring, pinning combinations going back and forth untl Steel begged off. Velvet knocked her down with a big scissor kick and tried a cover for a two count.

Steel caught Velvet with a lungblower off the ropes followed by a code breaker. The two traded shots in the corners with Velvet getting a big knee, then Steel responding with one of her own. Velvet caught her though and hit a powerbomb for a two count.

Steel hit a heel kick to the head, knocking Velvet to the mat. Steel dragged her to the corner, but Velvet came back with a power bomb of sorts. Steel hoisted Velvet up for a swinging slam, but could only get a two count.

Velvet started throwing hands and then a spinning kick to the face. Steel slumped over and Velvet grabbed the pin and the victory.

Winner: Red Velvet via Pinfall to retain the ROH Women’s World Television Championship.

Backstage: TMDK, Shane Taylor Promotions

TMDK cut a promo in the back about how they are back in ROH. The Infantry showed up and called them “fartsniffers” before all of Shane Taylor Promotions jumped them. Shane Taylor told TMDK to tell Robbie Eagles that talking trash online gets people hurt. Then they left.

Eight-Man Tag Team Match
Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson), Big Bill, & “The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith vs. Che Cabrera, CJ Tino, Dom Kubrick, & Richie Slade

Every time I see Big Bill and what great shape he’s in these days I can’t help but wonder why he’s not a bigger deal in the AEW/ROH universe.

Anyway, Keith started off against Slade, throwing his poncho on him to get the advantage. Keith hit a big boot tot he face and Kubrick tagged in. Drake caught a tag from Keith and came in to trade blows with Kubrick. Drake eventually knocked him down and Gibson came in so they could double team him.

Gibson threw some stiff forearms in the corner, and Cabrera tagged in. Big Bill took a tag from Gibson and Cabrera started throwing elbows. Bill no-sold them and then knocked him down with a lariat followed by a splash in the corner.

Bill tagged Gibson back in and Cabrera caught him with a chinbreaker. Cabrera tagged in Tino, who tagged in Kubrick. Drake and Gibson took him out easily with a double team. Bill and Keith came in and threw tandem big boots at Kubrick. Bill made the pin and that was it.

Winner: Grizzled Young Veterans, Big Bill, & “The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith via Pinfall.

After the match, Drake handed Bill a stack of cash, insinuating that they were mercenaries for the Vets. Suddenly, Sky Flight arrived for their six-man match. They stared down the Vets, Bill and Keith as they made their way to the ring.

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Sky Flight (Scorpio Sky & Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin)) vs. Los Suavecitos (Adrian Quest, Danny Rose, & Ricky Gee)

Los Suavecitos looked like what would happen if you split TJ Perkins into the three people and called them a team.

Sky started off against Quest, who kicked away the Code of Honor. Sky got a wristlock, but Quest reversed it quickly. Sky got out of it and came of the ropes for the two to trade arm drags. Quest went for a back drop, but Sky double stomped him instead. Dante tagged in and brought Darius with him.

They double teamed Quest with Darius arm dragging him face first tot he mat. Quest resorted to hair pulling and Gee and Rose came in to help him triple team Darius. Rose tried a headlock, but Darius just stood up. Gee tagged in and hit a sunset bomb for a two count.

Darius got a hot tag to Dante who cleared the ring, hitting a springboard dropkick on Gee. Gee charged into the corner, but Dante dodged it and hit a splash from up top. Quest and Rose came in, but Sky cut them off with a double clothesline.

Sky threw Quest into the corner for a three-way double knee from all members of Sky Flight. Sky hit a spinebuster on Rose and Darius used the ropes to slingshot Rose into a cutter from Dante. Presumably, those two were legal a Dante made the pin and got the win for his team.

Winner: SkyFlight via Pinfall.

Jay Lethal vs. “The Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington

I don’t think it’s a legal requirement, but when goes an Adam Priest goes a Tommy Billington!

Lethal sucker-kicked Billington off the top and sent him off the ropes. Billington came back with a scoop slam and then a missile dropkick to regain control. Lethal rolled out of the ring and Billington dove after him. He threw Lethal back into the ring and hit a back body drop for a near fall.

The two fought over top of the ropes with Lethal coming out on top and suplexing him on the ring apron (the Billingtonest part of the ring!). Lethal then dropped Billington from the apron with. DDT and rolled back in the ring. Billington did the same to beat the count.

Billington started throwing chops, driving Lethal into the corner. Lethal countered with a suplex and set Billington into the corner for a chop or two of his own. Lethal began dropping elbows on Billington’s knee, trying to take out his high flying ability.

Lethal locked in a figure four and Billington dragged them both to the ropes to break the hold. Lethal went up top, but before he could do anything, Billington rolled away. Billington rolled from corner to corner avoiding Lethal’s attacks from the top turnbuckle until he scrambled up and caught him in a superplex.

They started throwing forearms in the center of the ring. Lethal hit a Lethal Combination and went up top to hit an elbow, but Billington caught him in a crossface in the center of the ring. Suddenly, Lee Johnson and Blake Christian arrived to cause a distraction. That let Lethal hit a Lethal Injection and pick up the win.

Winner: Jay Lethal via Pinfall.

Satnam Singh vs. Jordan Oasis

(sigh) The “one in a billion” Singh came to the ring to do that “one in one” match he does.

The bell rang. Oasis ran at Singh, and he pushed him over. Then Oasis ran at Singh again and he pushed him over. Again. Throw. Choke. Oasis got a forearm in. Singh pinched Oasis’ traps.

Singh put Oasis in the corner. Chop. Chop. Oasis then surprsingly managed to get Singh off his feet with some kicks, but that didn’t last long.

Oasis threw some punches and then Singh hit a chokeslam.

The end. #LOLSinghwins.

Backstage: Deonna Purrazzo

In the back, ROH Women’s Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo cut a promo about how Adora isn’t “pure” because she relies on STP’s help. But she won’t be able to do that in their match tonight.

Johnnie Robbie vs. Persephone

Persephone is 4-0 in ROH and Robbie is a very good Diamante cosplayer.

They locked up off the top and Robbie forced Persephone to the ropes. Off those ropes, Robbie caught Persephone with an arm drag. Persephone then fell victim to a hurricanrana, but came back with a double stomp off of a rollup attempt by Robbie.

Persephone sent Robbie to the corner and threw kicks into her gut. She kicked her in the back a bunch and then drove her boot into Robbie’s head before sending her across the ring ith a judo flip.

Persephone got vicious then, fish hooking Robbie then paintbrushing her. That gave Robbie an opening for an uppercut, but Persephone shoved her back into the corner for more stomps. Persephone hit a back elbow then put on a sleeper.

Robbie stood up and threw some elbows into Persephone’s gut, but Persephone came back with a head butt. Robbie connected with a clothesline, but only got a two count. Robbie went for a knee, but Persephone blocked it. She set up Robbie for a power bomb, but Robbie blocked it.

Robbie went up top and hit a crossbody from the top turnbuckle. The comeback was short lived though as Persephone came back and hit a Crucifix Bomb to get the 1-2-3.

Winner: Persephone via Pinfall.

Tony Nese vs. Komander

Nese has pledged to rid ROH of Luchadores, but given the sheer amount of Luchadores in ROH, he’s not very good at it. Mark Sterling ran down the crowd, calling for Lucha Libra to be weeded out of ROH.

Nese insisted on a Code of Honor and they tied up. Nese drove Komander into the corner, giving him a good look at his chiseled bicep. Nese hit a back elbow and sent Komander off the ropes. Komander came out of it taking Nese down with an armdrag.

Komander started peppering Nese with body shots, whipping him out of the corner. Nese slid out and Komander hit him with a suicide dive. Sterling started jawing at Komander who went back to hammering on Nese, working his arm.

Nese tried to escape through the crowd, but Komander dragged him back and threw him in the ring. Nese caused a distraction allowing Sterling to stomp Komander. Daivari threw Komander back into the ring where Nese grabbed him an a waistlock.

Komander went for a suplex, but Nese countered it unto a double stomp, followed by a body scissor. Nese held Komander down and threw some forearms at his face. Komander got out of the hold and backed Nese into the corner. Nese wouldn’t let go though and threw Komander into the turnbuckle. He charged, but Komander dodged it.

Komander threw a flurry of kicks and countered a suplex attempt from Nese. Komander planted him with a DDT, but could only get a two count out of it. Komander hit a standing moonsault for another two and then went for a springboard, but Nese got his knees up to block it.

Nese landed a kick to Komander’s head, but only got a two count. Nese set him up for a pump handle, but Komander countered it into a headscissor takedown. Komander hit a DDT off the ropes and went up top. He hit a flipping slam from the top rope and got the pin on Nese to win the match.

Winner: Komander via Pinfall.

ROH World Television Championship Proving Ground Match
Lucas Riley vs. Nick Wayne (c)

Wayne is back in ROH for the first time since August. Kip Sabian is back from 1992.

Wayne had some cool nu-metal pants on, which may have helped him snapmare Reily off the top. Riley went for a wristlock, but Wayne countered by throwing him across the ring. Riley hit a headscissor and threw some big elbows in the corner, but Wayne blocked a suplex and threw him back into the corner head first.

Wayne threw some chops and dropped some legs, looking to put Riley away fast. Riley hit a Michinoku Driver out of nowhere and went up top for a swanton. Wayne got the knees up though and hit a dragon suplex for a two count.

Wayne whiffed a kick and Riley rolled him up for a quick two. Riley hit a Casadora, but went too fast an Wayne knocked him right the heck out with a kick to end his proving ground dreams.

Winner: Nick Wayne via Pinfall.

ROH Women’s Pure Championship
Trish Adora vs. Deonna Purrazzo (c)

Purrazzo and Adora entered into an extended feeling out process, going back and forth until Adora accidentally used her first rope break at 57:37.

Adora got Purrazzo up into an Air Raid Crash position, stretching her in the center of the ring. Adora dropped her to the wring, working the wrist. Adora went to the shoulder next, driving down onto it, wrenching Purrazzo into a two count.

Adora threw her glutes at Purrazzo in the corner and then dragged her to her feet to throw some forearms. Purrazzo fought back, and came off the ropes with a clothesline. Purrazzo locked on a fujiwara forcing Adora to use her second rope break at 53:37.

Adora tried to go back to the arm, snapping it down and going for a german. Purrazzo countered it, but Adora got a bridge suplex on for a two count. Adora put Purrazzo on hher shoulders, but Purrazzo countered it into a powerbomb.

Adora took control and landed a Lariat Tubman, but didn’t have the power behind it to get Purrazzo for good. Adora went for a second one, but Purrazzo ducked it and brought her to the mat with a drop toe hold. She locked on the Fujiwara again and wrenched Adora until she had no choice but to tap out.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo via Submission to retain the ROH Women’s Pure Championship.

After the match Diamante and Billie Starkz showed up and attacked Purrazzo. Adora reluctantly joined in, and the three stomped the Pure Champion in the center of the ring. Then Billie Starkz’ music played to end the segment for some reason.

Backstage: Athena

In a patented MCU after-credits scene, ROH Women’s Champion Athena cut a promo about how she hates that Purrazzo is the Pure Champion. Her minions (Starkz and Diamante) are far more worthy. Then she turned her attention to Maya World, claiming she embarrassed her at MPX vs ROH Global Wars. Athena offered her a proving ground match so she could teach her a lesson and the show ended.
