As noted before, former NXT General Manager Ava, real name Simone Garcia Johnson, departed from WWE this past Friday following her not renewing her contract with the company.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that while there is no exact reason known yet, the general belief from his sources spoken to was that she simply just did not want to do it anymore in regards to continuing working in WWE.
Meltzer speculated that Ava’s parents owning a production studio could have played a role in her decision to leave WWE and she potentially could be going to work for her parents’ company.
One person spoken to reportedly stated that WWE recently cutting developmental talent Tatyanna Dumas, girlfriend of Ava, could have potentially played a role in Ava’s decision but this is something that has yet to be confirmed. Meltzer reported that those spoken to were not quite saying that is why Ava quit but it was something that people put one and one together for a possible reason.
Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources confirmed that it was Ava’s decision to leave WWE and not from anyone within the company. Alvarez also reported that there was no mention during this past Tuesday’s WWE NXT that indicated that Ava could be leaving soon. Prior to her departure, Ava had been involved in a storyline angle with Tony D’Angelo since his surprise return this past December.
