In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, former NJPW and current NOAH talent Tetsuya Naito gave his thoughts about Hiromu Takahashi leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling this month. Naito stated “[Takahashi] was deeply committed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. I never imagined him leaving; it’s sad. Well, maybe I felt that way too. I had heard that other options were emerging for him. That said, I didn’t tell him anything like ‘You should do this.’ Honestly, my feeling is that he took a step forward. I want to support that step he took.”
In a recent interview with Death Arts Xiii By Ash, TNA commentator Matthew Rehwoldt gave his thoughts about the potential of him wrestling one more match in the future for his wrestling career, Rehwoldt stated “I mean, look, if there’s one thing this business has taught any of us, right? Like never say never. It’s the cheesiest of all the cheesy, corny, cliche things to say. I will say at this point, I don’t have any plans to, this is a wild business. I am healthy. I am spry. I can still go if I wanted to. But yeah, not in the picture right now, but it’s an old cliche for a reason because often it comes true. Never say never.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Fightful, Paul Heyman gave his thoughts about ECW’s relationship with Acclaim Entertainment and the success of their Anarchy Rulz and Hardcore Revolution video games in 2000. Heyman stated “The ECW video game was interesting because it came out from Acclaim Entertainment and Acclaim Entertainment, at the time, was doing the WWE games and they lost the WWE games over to THQ. THQ was doing the WCW video games and they lost the WCW video games over to EA Sports. So Acclaim Entertainment had a bit of a formula in terms of the game and all they needed to do, all puns intended, was ramp that up to the extreme. Nobody really believed in the ECW video game back in 1999 and when it came out it smashed every record that was available at the moment. So much so that they bum rushed the next game, which was called Anarchy Rulz, as fast as they could out the door because the pre-orders—especially from overseas—had reached a level that had never been seen before.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
