Warner Bros. Discovery Reportedly Blocked Brody King From Appearing at 2/11 AEW Dynamite Show Following “F*ck ICE” Chants [Update: WBD Denies Having Any Involvement in King’s Abscense From Show]

Update:

Figthful Select reported that when reached out for a statement, those spoken to within Warner Bros. Discovery stated that the company had no involvement in King’s abscense from Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show.

“Warner Bros. Discovery did not have any involvement in Brody King’s upcoming AEW schedule. Any speculation to the contrary is categorically false.  Brody is scheduled to appear during the next AEW event, which will air this Saturday on TNT and HBO Max”

Those spoken to within AEW reportedly stated that the first they had heard of the situation was when the rumors of King’s abscense had emerged.

As noted before, the February 4th episode of AEW Dynamite was notable for the crowd chanting “Fuck ICE” prior to the start of the AEW World Championship Eliminator match between Brody King and MJF. Following the show, NBC News, TMZ, and other news outlets covered the anti-ICE chants at AEW’s show.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Ontario, California featured King only making a video appearance as part of a video package hyping up his AEW World Championship match against MJF at this Saturday’s Grand Slam Australia 2026 show.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that the reason for King’s in-person abscense from Wednesday’s AEW show was due to AEW’s media partner Warner Bros. Discovery. Those spoken to reportedly stated that WBD made the call to not have King appear on the show due to concerns of more “fuck ICE” chants by the crowd taking place.

In regards to the reason for WBD’s decision, Meltzer reported that it was due to WBD officials not wanting to upset WWE Hall of Famer and current United States President Donald Trump for the pending acquisition deal by Netflix for their company, which still needs regulatory approval.

Meltzer speculated that if it was not due to the timing of their acquisition deal process, WBD likely would not have cared if King was on the show nor the chants. Meltzer reported that WBD officials simply did not want to take a chance at upsetting Trump who is going to take that stuff personal.
